It looks like the filmmakers want to tap into nostalgia even more by telling more stories of some of their past superhits. One such movie features Saif Ali Khan in the lead role. Shahid Kapoor replaces Saif Ali Khan
If you are wondering which movie is that, well, it’s Cocktail. Along with Saif Ali Khan, the first movie also starred Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty in the lead roles. As reported by PeepingMoon entertainment news portal, the makers have decided to tell a new story and have approached Shahid Kapoor to play the male lead. The Haider actor is yet to sign a Cocktail 2 contract. But he is quite interesting in doing the sequel. Reportedly, the sequel will go on floors in mid-2025. After Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, this will be Shahid’s second film with Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. The report further mentions that Ananya Panday and Sara Ali Khan have been approached to play the female leads. Homi Adajania will return to direct the sequel as well. A source stated, “Dinesh Vijan and Homi Adajania have been planning a Cocktail sequel for years. Now, they have crafted a storyline that captures the magic of the original while offering a fresh narrative. Shahid loved the story and is already on board, while discussions with leading young actresses are ongoing.”

Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor will be next seen in an action-thriller film titled Deva. Directed by Rosshan Andrews, it also stars Pooja Hegde in the lead role and will release on February 14, 2025. On the other hand, Saif Ali Khan is a part of the film Jewel Thief: The Red Sun Chapter.
