The first fleet of electric double-decker buses are here to improve public transport and reduce traffic congestion. Launched by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath: The double-decker buses were officially inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the Akanksha Haat event held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. The CM also took a ride on one of the buses, symbolizing the state’s commitment to enhancing public transportation.

Eco-Friendly buses: These electric buses produce zero emissions, making them an eco-friendly alternative to traditional diesel buses. This move aligns with the state’s efforts to reduce air pollution and promote cleaner, more sustainable transportation options.

Affordable Fare Structure: The new bus service is designed to be accessible for everyone. Fares start as low as ₹12 for shorter trips, with the maximum fare for a 30-km journey set at ₹45. This affordability ensures that public transport remains within reach for all passengers.

Fare Details

Here’s a breakdown of the fare structure:

0–3 km: ₹12
0–6 km: ₹20
6–10 km: ₹25
10–14 km: ₹30
14–19 km: ₹35
19–24 km: ₹40
24–30 km: ₹45

For example, a trip from Lucknow Airport to Kamta costs ₹40, while a ride from Transport Nagar costs just ₹12.

Expansion Plans: This initiative is part of a broader vision to expand the electric bus service to other cities in Uttar Pradesh, supporting the state’s goal of cleaner, greener, and more efficient urban mobility.
