Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is currently at D23 Brazil to show off a whole bunch of stuff for fans attending.
Along with new trailers for “Captain America: Brave New World” and “Thunderbolts*” which both went online, the old trailer for “Daredevil: Born Again” shown at D23 in August was shown to the room.
Also confirmed is that the “Fantastic Four” film has only a few weeks of shooting left, and X-Men mutant Storm is coming to Marvel’s “What If?” anthology animated series which is also getting Anthony Mackie voicing his role of Sam Wilson/Captain America.
Feige sat down with major Brazilian genre outlet Omelete to give a wide-ranging interview discussing all sorts of Marvel titles in development, filming and more.
First up, he says the studio remains committed to getting a “Blade” movie out there:
“We’re committed to Blade. We love the character, we love Mahershala’s version of him, and rest assured, whenever we change direction with a project, or are still trying to figure out how it fits into our schedule, we let the public know. You’re updated on what’s going on. But I can say that the character will make it to the MCU.”
Asked about the potential return of Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch he says: “All I can say is that we’re excited to find out when and how Scarlet Witch can come back.” Will Miles Morales makes his MCU live-action debut sometime?
“Miles will appear in the third Spider-Verse, which is in production. I hope that, shortly after that, he will be able to enter the MCU in live-action.”
As for X-Men, he says they have already mapped out their plans to bring mutants to Earth Prime:
“When we were preparing for Avengers: Endgame years ago, it was a matter of getting to the grand finale of our narrative, and then we had to start all over again after that. This time, on the road to Secret Wars, we already know very well what’s going to happen… the story until then and beyond. The X-Men are an important part of that future.”
Finally, in terms of Deadpool and Wolverine and how those two fit into that, he says: “we’re always wondering where we can fit them in, and how fast.”
