The Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors Foundation has partnered with Julius Berger Nigeria Plc after it recognised the firm’s role in infrastructure development and shaping the country’s built environment.
According to a statement, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, NIQS Foundation, Olusegun Ajanlekoko, recognised Julius Berger during a courtesy visit to the construction firm, stressing the organisation’s commitment to partnering with industry leaders.
“This foundation is an offshoot of the NIQS. When NIQS turned 50, we thought about how we could impact society and make our presence felt,” Ajanlekoko stated. “We needed to go beyond our confinement and seek partnerships with like-minded organisations. Our first point of call was Julius Berger.”
He described the company as a model of excellence, adding, “Julius Berger Nigeria Plc stands as a beacon of excellence in infrastructure development, delivering projects that have significantly contributed to the growth and modernisation of Nigeria.”
Ajanlekoko also lauded the firm’s commitment to sustainability, capacity building, and industry best practices, noting that the visit was to foster a strategic partnership aligned with their shared goals of excellence, professionalism, and innovation.
Julius Berger’s Director of Administration, Abdulaziz Kaita, acknowledged the NIQS Foundation’s contributions to quantity surveying and the construction industry.
“Your presence here today is not just an acknowledgement of our shared values of excellence and professionalism but a testament to your commitment to the growth of quantity surveying in Nigeria,” Kaita said.
He commended the foundation’s efforts in promoting professional development, fostering innovation, and upholding ethical standards, adding that the visit offered an opportunity to strengthen ties and explore ways to empower young professionals.
“This engagement will lead to fruitful discussions and actionable steps to reinforce the value of quantity surveying in national development,” he added.
Director-General of the NIQS Foundation, Dr Celestina Eke, described the visit as a significant step towards enhanced industry collaboration, underscoring the foundation’s mission to drive research and improve professional standards.
“The NIQS Foundation is committed to working together on initiatives that promote professional development and address the challenges faced by quantity surveyors,” Eke remarked.
She added that the partnership with Julius Berger would boost the sector’s growth, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and sustainable projects across Nigeria.
