Ty Torres, a professor in Laguna Beach CA has tragically died in a surfing accident,.
Torres’ death occurred Wednesday, November 6th. 2024, his cousin, Jason Kosmas, announced.
“Yesterday we lost my cousin, Ty Torres tragically. He was my idol since I was kid… He was everything I wanted to be – strong, smart, handsome, funny, cool, stylish, but most of all he was confident, humble, and kind,”
Torres’ death sparked a wave of tributes and fond farewells from friends and loved ones.
One lengthy tribute remembered him for all his great qualities, for being a dedicated husband, father, son and a true friend.
He “loved his doggie, his Yankees, his rock and roll, and his garden”, Kimberly O’Brien Young wrote. “He was a dedicated educator and professor at the local college…Ty loved life and he lived each day to the fullest. He brought a bear hug and joy to any room he entered. If you were cared for by him, then you were family in his heart.” she said.
