Seasons may come and go, but the best sweatpants for women are eternal. Whether you’re running errands, settling in for a Netflix marathon, or heading to the gym, sweats and joggers are year-round wardrobe staples. They’re still comfy, of course, but they’re no longer something to hide away inside your home; with the right styling—like a trench coat paired with sharp loafers and dainty jewelry—sweatpants can be undeniably chic. (We also love the classic hoodie-and-white sneakers combo.)

To help you navigate the very crowded world of sweatpants shopping, we turned to our editors, who are just as obsessed with comfort (and looking good) as you are. From elevated styles perfect for coffee dates to super-stretchy pairs that’ll rival your favorite leggings during workouts and at the airport, these are the very best sweatpants for women right now.

Lululemon Softstreme High-Rise Pants

Sizes: 0–20 in short, regular, and tall | Colors: 10 options | Material: 53% recycled polyester, 38% modal, 9% elastane

Lululemon’s straight-leg sweatpants are made of a uniquely soft, silky, polyester-modal-spandex blend that might make you forget its yoga pants entirely. “They’re almost satin-like in feel inside,” says Glamour commerce editor Malia Griggs. “When I put them on for the first time, the words that came to mind were silky and substantial. These pants aren’t messing around. They’re durable, very fitted with a shock cord (a plus, since tying a drawstring gets tiring), and have multiple pockets, including a hidden sleeve for your credit cards. They’re extremely warm without feeling heavy, and almost too high-rise, accentuating my stomach a tad more than I like. I think they’re ideal for wearing casually during cold weather, paired with an oversized sweater.”

Amazon Essentials French Terry Fleece Joggers

Sizes: XS–6X | Colors: 21 options | Material: 60% cotton, 40% polyester

You need these Amazon bestsellers on your radar, stat. Available in plenty of different colors, like classic gray, earthy brown, and navy blue, these medium-weight sweats have earned praise and high ratings from tens of thousands of reviewers for their laid-back slim fit and supersoft texture. “They’re ultra thin and breathable, so I don’t overheat, and the cuff doesn’t slide up during the night and cut off my circulation, which has happened with every other jogger I’ve tried to sleep in,” says Condé Nast’s Kim Fusaro, who owns a similar pair from Amazon. “But my favorite part is that, while they’re the best for sleeping, they also totally work out of bed—and out of the house, even—so I can answer the door or run to Target and no one knows I’m still in my pajamas. Plus, they have pockets! Everything is better with pockets.” Agreed.

Vuori Performance Joggers

Sizes: XXS–XXL in regular and long | Colors: 11 options | Material: 89% recycled polyester, 11% elastane

These joggers were some of the most-recommended by our editors because of how incredibly soft and stretchy they are—and how they only grow cozier with each wash, according to Glamour senior editor Stephanie McNeal. “I love sweats but hate that they often weren’t appropriate for the office or meeting up with people for dinner,” says Jessica Radloff, Glamour’s senior West Coast editor. “Enter Vuori, which creates athleisure that’s not only the softest but also incredibly chic and fashion-forward. They’re acceptable to wear to more than just the gym. I can dress them up or down, and I’ve yet to find a more flattering pair. I’ve always been a sweatpants girl, but TBH, I’ve never found a better brand than Vuori.” (Pro tip: The brand name is pronounced “vee-ori.”) Whether you’re in the market for activewear or traveling attire, they’re just right.

Uniqlo Heattech Pile-Lined Sweatpants

Sizes: XXS–XXL | Colors: 5 options | Material: 67% polyester, 19% acrylic, 14% rayon

“Everyone in New York is obsessed with Uniqlo’s Heattech line; it’s earned a cult following for adding serious warmth without extra bulk,” Glamour commerce editor Jake Henry Smith says. “While I don’t own this exact pair—I’ve actually gifted similar styles—I can speak to the truly warm material, especially as someone who walks everywhere and often finds myself wishing for more coverage on my legs.” This pair features a classic jogger cut with wide, stretchy ankle cuffs that’ll keep the legs firmly in place (or tuck nicely into socks). Reviewers note that the sizing can be a little inconsistent between colors, but you should be fine ordering your usual size. These might just unseat your winter leggings as your go-to cold-weather bottoms.

5/14

Jerzees NuBlend Open-Bottom Fleece Sweatpants

Sizes: S–3XL | Colors: 7 options | Material: 50% cotton, 50% polyester

Sometimes you need an anonymous, fuss-free pair of sweatpants—and that’s where Jerzees comes in. “They have sturdy but warm material, effective pockets, and an open bottom, and they look exactly like a nice pair of black pants,” says Glamour copy director Talley Sue Hohlfeld. “And they’re cheap.” The sizing is geared toward men, so you might want to go one down from your usual; shorter people will also probably need to shorten the inseam or roll the legs up, which is easier without cuffed ankles. But for this price, we’re not complaining.

Alo Accolade Sweatpants

Sizes: XXS–2XL | Colors: 14 options | Material: 65% cotton, 35% polyester

“Alo’s sweatpants don’t try too hard, and that’s exactly why I love them,” says Glamour’s Smith. “The silhouette is classic, with the same drawstring waist and straight legs you had in middle school. This pair, though, is decked out with just the right weight of terry, a cozy fleece interior, and a chrome Alo logo that’ll have you feeling like Hailey Bieber leaving yoga class. The material pilled after a few washes, as polyester tends to do, but hasn’t gotten any worse in the years since. For the price, I wish the finishing could be a little better—metal aglets instead of plastic ones on the drawstring, for example—but this is still my favorite pair.” They’re giving those cult-favorite Alo leggings a run for their money.

Quince Mongolian Cashmere Sweatpants

Sizes: XS–XL | Colors: 7 options | Material: 100% cashmere

Cashmere wool is known for its temperature-regulating properties, durability, and extreme softness and airiness. Glamour reviewer Emily Şanli raves about her jogger pants from Quince: “I own a lot of cashmere, and these are definitely on the softer, higher-quality side. They’re so soft and flattering and never get too hot or too cold. I wear them to walk the dog, sleep, and lounge, and they never get stinky. You might think cashmere is high-maintenance, but all you have to do is wash them on cold or delicate and then air-dry them. The only thing to note is that there’s some fabric pilling, but I just use a fabric shaver to remove it.” Getting 100% cashmere at this price is basically unheard of—and you can buy the matching hoodie for just $100 more.

Athleta Forever Fleece High-Rise Joggers

Sizes: XXS–3X in petite, regular, and tall | Colors: 14 options | Material: 75% cotton, 19% polyester, 6% spandex

Athleta’s size-inclusive joggers come with an especially breathable cotton blend and a high-waist design that can be worn normally or rolled down to expose the drawstring. “Not only are these the softest pair of sweats I’ve ever worn, but the relaxed fit assures the waistband never pinches my stomach or hips, even when rolled down,” says Glamour writer Emily Tannenbaum. “However, what really sets these sweatpants apart from the competition is the fact that their fleecy lining has remained just as soft after multiple (delicate) washes and tumbles in the dryer—which cannot be said for many of my other sweats.”

9/14

Skims Cotton Classic Joggers

Sizes: XXS–4X | Colors: 7 options | Material: 70% cotton, 30% polyester

Just like the rest of its basics, Skims’ take on sweatpants is truly comfortable and size-inclusive. “[They’re] as cozy as it gets,” says Glamour reviewer Rosie Norton, who praises the soft cotton blend of these classic joggers. They feature a formfitting silhouette that enhances shape while maintaining comfort. Ideal for lounging or layering, they work well with a matching hoodie and your favorite sneakers for a minimalist, chic vibe. “I have thicker thighs and a round butt, so finding the oversized look isn’t always easy for me, but sized up, these were great,” Norton says.

What we love: Size-inclusive; perfectly oversized; breathableWhat could improve: Drawstring bulges10/14

Nike Sportswear Club Fleece Mid-Rise Joggers

Sizes: XXS–XXL | Colors: 10 options | Material: 80% cotton, 20% recycled polyester

Max out on cozy vibes with these relaxed lounge pants you’ll 100% regret not owning. “These have a shorter pile than most fleece sweatpants, but what you lose in plushness is made up for in softness. It softens with each wash, too, and doesn’t pill up like a lot of fleece,” says Glamour reviewer Mehul Shah, who recommends sizing up for a comfier fit. They’re also, nicely, unisex. “I’ll borrow these from my boyfriend whenever we’re having a lazy Sunday, and the brushed interior is beyond soft,” says Glamour contributor Andrea Navarro.

Aritzia Sweatfleece Cozy Fleece Mega Sweatpants

Sizes: XXS–XXL | Colors: 29 options | Material: 78% cotton, 22% polyester

“I adore these Aritzia sweatpants,” says Tchesmeni Leonard, senior fashion editor at Glamour. “They’re exceptionally soft, and the slim leg and high-waist fit truly appeal to me. They’ve become a versatile wardrobe essential for me—I like wearing them with a blazer, a tee, and loafers when I’m on the go but want to dress up a bit and look chic. The fleece provides exceptional comfort and warmth. These have become a weekly go-to for me, and I couldn’t resist getting them in multiple colors and sizes, including some that are oversized for a relaxed, baggy fit.” (They’re also a favorite of Glamour designer Channing Smith.)

12/14

Spanx AirEssentials Tapered Pants

Sizes: XS–3X | Colors: 4 options | Material: 47% modal, 46% polyester, 7% elastane

These stretchy Spanx sweats really put the “air” in AirEssentials. “Not only are these pants breathable and buttery soft,” says Glamour senior commerce editor Jenifer Calle, “but they make for the perfect airport outfit. I style it with a matching crew and I’m ready to go.” Though you might know Spanx for its shapewear, its sweatpants are far from compressive. This pair is stretchy and lightweight, with a fit that tapers at the ankle, keeping out cold air (important during drafty flights). Just note that there are no side pockets; the streamlined look comes at a slight inconvenience.

13/14

Dagne Dover Varsity Logo Sweatpants

Sizes: XS–2X | Colors: 2 options | Material: 100% cotton

“I’ve been a big Dagne Dover fan for years—its diaper bags are elite, FYI—but even I was surprised to learn the accessories brand had branched into clothing,” says Glamour deputy editor Anna Moeslein. “I was not surprised, though, by the quality once I received my sweatpants and matching hoodie. The fabric has a nice heavyweight feel you don’t often get with sweats, which makes them extra-warm and durable. The ankle cuffs sit nicely on top of any shoe, and I like how the elastic waistband hangs just right on the hips—not too slouchy, not too tight. Also, they are amazingly easy to clean. I’ve gotten just about every stain a new parent can get on these, and they always come out in the wash.”

14/14

Sporty & Rich Vendome Resort Sweatpants

Sizes: XS–XL | Colors: 1 option | Material: 100% cotton

“After years of being a skeptic, I’ve finally been won over by Sporty & Rich’s retro-athletic loungewear (and general vibe). The sweats might be a touch overpriced, but they’re thick and genuinely nice—and one of the only 100% cotton options I’ve seen in a minute,” says Glamour editor Smith. He’s not alone: Glamour contributor Navarro is also a big fan of the brand’s sweatpants. Shop around for other colors and logos; this is only one of the brand’s vintage-inspired pairs. We’re less impressed, however, by the label’s lack of proper plus-size options.
