5 New and Upcoming Games to Creep You Out This Halloween
October is almost here, and with it comes that familiar urge to feel a little braver, finally picking up the game we once feared and tucked away for a later date. To celebrate all things grotesque and macabre, I’ve compiled a list of new and upcoming games that will haunt your Halloween.

Silent Hill f
There was a time when the big question was: which is better, Resident Evil or Silent Hill? That debate has dwindled over the years, as Capcom’s series has gone from strength to strength while Konami’s quietly disappeared into the fog. Just when all seemed lost, Silent Hill was resurrected with an incredible remake of the franchise’s beloved second entry. Following its success, the series now shifts direction with a rural Japan setting, injecting new life into the long-dormant horror classic. With its intriguing and mysterious world, it’s the perfect game to play this Halloween.

Little Nightmares 3
Little Nightmares twists childlike innocence into a chilling portrayal of childhood fears made real. The latest entry in the series takes a brave, if tentative, step in a new direction by placing co-op at the forefront. Unsettling and grotesque, it challenges you to work with a partner to overcome the many hideous obstacles determined to block your path. If it comes anywhere close to the level of its predecessors, this could be a truly special scare for the spooky season.

Phasmophobia
There’s safety in numbers, and that’s what makes Phasmophobia such a thrill to play. While it’s been available on PC for some time, it has only recently arrived on consoles, instantly finding a devoted fan base. You and your friends must team up to hunt ghosts in a tense yet often hilarious experience. Scream at your friends, scream at the ghosts, and scream as you run for safety in this incredible co-op horror adventure.

Still Wakes the Deep
The feeling of isolation is vital in the horror genre. There’s a certain vulnerability that comes with it, creating a foreboding atmosphere and adding dread to every step into the unknown. Still Wakes the Deep captures this perfectly with its oil rig setting and Lovecraftian-influenced approach to storytelling, which blurs the line between the real and the otherworldly. With its rich narrative and truly excellent performances, this immersive, anxiety-ridden adventure is perfect to play on those cold October nights.

Alone in the Dark
A reboot that received little fanfare, Alone in the Dark is a brilliant revival of the pioneering franchise. Its Southern Gothic setting and stately mansion create an incredible atmosphere that keeps you on edge. Featuring clever puzzles and standout performances by David Harbour and Jodie Comer, this narrative-driven thriller keeps you hooked until the very end. An overlooked gem, this haunting tale is ripe for rediscovery this Halloween.

Of course, you can look further back to the Dead Space Remake, Resident Evil Village, and more, but these are my picks of recent and upcoming horror games to keep you on edge this season. Whether you’re braving ghosts with friends, solving sinister puzzles alone, or awaiting Silent Hill’s long-awaited return, one thing’s certain: this Halloween has no shortage of nightmares waiting to be unleashed.
