The rumors about Wang Xiaofei funding the private jet were traced back to an influencer named “I Am Xia Xiaojian”, later revealed that he is Zhang Lan’s godson, which further enraged netizens. Zhang Lan quickly denied any personal or business ties with him, clarifying that “Xia Jian is not my godson, nor is he an employee of Ma Liu Ji (her business) or our livestream team. We have no business dealings—he simply supports us and attends our store openings to livestream.”

Seemingly directing his frustration at Zhang Lan, he asked, “Why should I take the blame for all your mistakes?” and also expressed frustration at Douyin’s handling of the matter. “If you believe there’s an issue, you have the right to ban me as a platform. But to judge me without understanding the full situation—that is on you.”
