Sustainable Foods Summit Asia 2025: Dole, Meatiply, Google to highlight critical aspects of sustainable food systems

The Sustainable Foods Summit (SFS) Asia 2025 is set to bring together industry leaders, such as Dole, Meatiply, and Google, and more to explore key challenges and innovations shaping the future of sustainable food systems.SFS Asia will take place in Singapore from February 25 to 26 at the PARKROYAL Collection Marina Bay.

The summit, organised by Ecovia Intelligence, aims to foster sustainable development within the food sector.

The agenda features four key sessions covering sustainability developments, ingredient innovations, future trends, and marketing insights.

The event will open with a keynote address by Professor William Chen, Director of the Food Science and Technology Programme at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore.

Chen’s keynote will highlight the various approaches that are being taken to produce food in a sustainable manner, such as regenerative agriculture, cellular agriculture, and precision

Exploring latest developmentsAs companies move towards circularity, the summit will also explore significant trends such as upcycling with Dole Specialty Ingredients.

Managing Director Weitze Ooi, who will discuss the how the company is transforming ‘ugly’ fruit and byproducts into high-value ingredients.

The summit will also shed light on another emerging area of interest, cellular agriculture.

Kumaresan Thanabal from Meatiply will share the firm’s experiences in producing cultured meat, including the challenges of commercialising ‘lab-grown’ meat.

Additionally, the event will also welcome APAC Society for Cellular Agriculture’s Calisa Lim, who will zero in on the latest regulatory developments in this rising space.

With artificial intelligence sparking widespread discussion, the summit will also look at how AI can be used by food and beverage companies to identify suitable ingredients and create sustainable products with Somsubhra GanChoudhuri, Founder and CEO of Ai Palette.

Panels: Sourcing trends, scaling sustainability, and marketing challengesThe pandemic and global geopolitical instabilities have exposed vulnerabilities in agricultural ingredient supply chains.

As these challenges emerge, the summit will feature a dedicated panel to address their impact on ingredient sourcing and potential solutions.

The panel will comprise of industry experts including Yien Li Yap, Director of Sustainability, APAC and EME at Compass at Google; Dr. Boligala Raju, President and CEO at High Quality Organics; Marie Lacoste, Head of CSR, Fair Trade, and Sustainable Sourcing at Ecocert Group.

Additionally, the summit will also feature two more panels.

The first will explore the challenges of scaling sustainable agriculture in Asia, addressing low interest in organic and regenerative farming, producer obstacles, and strategies for wider adoption.

The second will focus on marketing challenges in the sustainable food and beverage sector, discussing ways to enhance consumer engagement and market growth.
