The 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performer nominees are here. Among the 14 up for induction are returning nominees Oasis, the White Stripes, Mariah Carey, Soundgarden, and Joy Division and New Order, as well as first-timers including Outkast and Phish. The inductees will be announced in late April, before a ceremony in the fall.
Cyndi Lauper, Bad Company, Billy Idol, the Black Crowes, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, and Maná complete the list of nominees. A handful of 2024 unpicked nominees did not make the shortlist this year: Sinéad O’Connor, Sade, and Eric B. & Rakim. The class of 2024 comprised Cher, A Tribe Called Quest, Dave Matthews Band, Mary J. Blige, Ozzy Osbourne, Kool & the Gang, Peter Frampton, and Foreigner.
John Sykes, chair of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, said in a press release, “These remarkable Nominees have each created their own musical style and attitude impacting generations of music lovers and contributing to the ever evolving sounds and continued growth of rock & roll.”
Three non-performer honorees will be selected in April, awarded for Musical Influence, Musical Excellence and the Ahmet Ertegun Non Performer Award.
