Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Surpasses 500,000 Sales Worldwide

A Milestone for Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma
Marvelous has announced that Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma has crossed a major milestone, with global shipments and digital sales exceeding 500,000 units. The game launched on June 5 for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

According to Famitsu’s sales data, the game sold over 97,000 physical copies in Japan, with 75,524 units on Switch and 22,169 units on Switch 2. To celebrate the achievement, Marvelous shared a new commemorative illustration for fans.

Guardians of Azuma reimagines the beloved Rune Factory series, introducing players to the brand-new eastern land of Azuma. Here, players step into the role of an Earth Dancer, harnessing dance, sacred treasures, and new weapons like the Bow and Talisman to combat the Blight, a corruption threatening the region.

Beyond farming, players are tasked with rebuilding entire villages. By constructing homes and inviting residents back, communities begin to thrive again. Reviving the gods further enriches the land, unlocking valuable resources and restoring balance.

The game also embraces Japanese-inspired aesthetics, with seasonal landscapes, traditional festivals, and richly designed monsters. This new cultural backdrop adds a unique flavor while maintaining the series’ familiar blend of action, farming, and exploration.

In true Rune Factory fashion, romance and relationships play a key role. Players can choose between male and female protagonists and pursue bonds with eligible characters through fully voiced storylines. Companions not only deepen the narrative but can also join the player in battle.

With its mix of farming, combat, village building, and heartfelt connections, Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma has successfully captured players’ attention worldwide, setting a strong foundation for the future of the series.
