Apple Unveils iPhone Air, Its Thinnest iPhone Yet

Apple has introduced the iPhone Air, its thinnest and lightest iPhone to date, featuring a redesigned titanium frame, pro-level performance, and advanced camera systems in a form factor just 5.6mm thin.

Starting at $999, iPhone Air runs on Apple’s new A19 Pro chip, along with custom-designed N1 wireless and C1X cellular chips. It includes a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display, new Ceramic Shield 2 protection on both sides, and all-day battery life, made possible by a completely reengineered internal layout.

“iPhone Air is a huge leap in design and performance,” said John Ternus, SVP of Hardware Engineering. “It feels like you’re holding the future.”

Design and Durability
Built with grade 5 titanium, iPhone Air is lighter and stronger than any previous model. A precision-milled internal plateau maximizes battery space, while the new Ceramic Shield 2 offers up to 3x better scratch resistance and 4x improved drop protection. The device also introduces the Action Button and Camera Control for fast access to core functions.

Pro Cameras in a Thin Design
iPhone Air debuts an 18MP Center Stage front camera that automatically adjusts framing and supports Dual Capture, letting users record with front and rear cameras at once. The 48MP Fusion camera system delivers improved low-light performance, 2x optical zoom, and AI-powered portraits.

Performance and AI
Powered by the A19 Pro and running iOS 26, iPhone Air delivers fast on-device AI performance, Live Translation, adaptive battery optimization, and offline visual intelligence. The N1 chip supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, while the C1X modem delivers faster cellular speeds with 30 percent less power.

Accessories and Environment

Apple also introduced new MagSafe accessories, including a translucent case, thin bumper, and crossbody strap. iPhone Air is made with 35% recycled materials, including 80% recycled titanium and 100% recycled cobalt, and ships in fiber-based packaging.
