The Northern Youth Frontiers (NYF) has lauded Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf after Kano State clinched the top spot in the 2025 National Examinations Council (NECO) results, describing the milestone as a major breakthrough for education in the country.
According to the group, the outcome is proof that recent interventions in Kano’s education sector are delivering tangible results, with the state’s exceptional NECO performance serving as clear evidence.
In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Sama Musa, the NYF said the success highlights both the brilliance of Kano’s students and the impact of Governor Yusuf’s reforms.
Musa said: “Under Governor Yusuf’s visionary guidance, Kano State has witnessed a renaissance in its educational landscape. His administration has implemented a series of practical and deliberate reforms aimed at revitalizing the educational sector and ensuring that our students receive the quality education they deserve.
“These reforms have included increased funding for schools, the establishment of modern educational facilities, and the provision of essential teaching resources. The fruits of these investments are now evident in the exceptional performance of our students in the NECO examinations.
“It is important to recognize that this success story is not solely the result of governmental initiatives. It is a collective effort that involves the unwavering dedication of teachers, the support of parents, and the hard work of school administrators.
“Our teachers have gone above and beyond to inspire and guide their students, often working late hours to ensure that no child is left behind. The support from parents has been equally commendable, as they have invested their time and resources to create a conducive environment for learning at home.
“The collaborative efforts of school administrators have also played a crucial role in fostering an atmosphere of excellence and accountability within our schools.”
Musa further emphasized that the achievement is not solely due to government efforts but also a product of collaboration across all stakeholders in the education sector.
The group, however, reserved its highest praise for Kano’s students, describing them as “the shining stars of today.”
He added, “Above all, we must celebrate the brilliant students of Kano State, who have demonstrated resilience, determination, and an unyielding pursuit of knowledge.
“Their achievements in the NECO examinations are a source of immense pride for all of us, and they serve as a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when young minds are nurtured and empowered. These students are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are the shining stars of today, proving that with.”
