Mirai on JioHotstar: Teja Sajja fantasy drama begins streaming but with a TWIST
The Karthik Gattamneni-directed movie Mirai starring Teja Sajja brought in over Rs. 150 crores globally. The rival is portrayed by Manoj Manchu. The film is streaming on JioHotstar from today. But here’s a catch!
Mirai on JioHotstar: Teja Sajja’s most recent fantasy action-adventure film, Mirai, has been a huge box office success. The Karthik Gattamneni-directed movie brought in over Rs. 150 crores globally. The rival is portrayed by Manoj Manchu. The film is streaming on JioHotstar from today, October 10 in four languages. Announcing the OTT release date, the OTT platform earlier wrote, “Nine scriptures. Infinite power. One Superyodha to protect the Brahmand. #Mirai, India’s own superhero, is coming to your home, streaming from October 10. #MiraiOnJioHotstar.”
What’s missing in Mirai’s OTT version?
With English subtitles, the film is currently available for streaming on Jio Hotstar in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The OTT version is just two hours and 46 minutes long, although the theatrical cut was 2 hours and 49 minutes. Also, the digital edition does not include the hit song Vibe Undhi Baby.
Which scene has been cut for OTT version?
Which sequence was cut for the digital version is still unknown. The Hindi version is planned to be released in November. Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under People Media Factory, the film also stars Ritika Nayak, Shriya Saran, Jagapathi Babu, Jayaram, and Getup Srinu. Gowra Hari wrote the music.
Mirai’s plot
Starring Teja Sajja, famous for Hanu-Man, the superhero drama mixes Indian mythology and Indian history. The story revolves around Vedha Prajapati (played by Tejja), who is an orphan, unaware of his roots. He soon gets to know that he is the protector of the nine sacred scriptures of the Emperor Ahsoka, as per the prophecy. He then has to fight against the Black Sword, which is a group led by Mahabir Lama.
Mirai Box office performance
The movie made over Rs 92 crore in India and remained in theatres for more than 21–24 days after its September 12 premiere. With nearly Rs 141 crore in worldwide receipts, the film enjoyed an incredible run. Big releases like OG by Pawan Kalyan and Kantara: Chapter 1 by Rishab Shetty later competed with it, which slowed its pace at the box office in subsequent weeks.
