Step Inside Luigi’s Mansion
Nintendo is ready to expand its Switch Online Plus Expansion Pack service next week by adding another fan favorite from the GameCube era. On October 30, players will be able to experience the original Luigi’s Mansion, a title that first launched alongside the GameCube in November 2001. In this classic adventure, Luigi, Mario’s timid brother, explores a mysterious mansion he unexpectedly inherits. With guidance from Professor E. Gadd and armed with the ghost-catching Poltergust 3000, Luigi navigates the mansion’s numerous rooms, confronting and capturing the mischievous spirits that haunt them.
This addition marks the sixth GameCube title available through Switch Online. The collection debuted alongside the Switch 2 with three games: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, F-Zero GX, and SoulCalibur II. Nintendo later expanded the lineup with Super Mario Strikers in July and Chibi-Robo in August. The company has confirmed that even more GameCube classics are on the way, including Super Mario Sunshine, Pokémon Colosseum, and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, though release dates for these titles have yet to be announced.
The GameCube collection is among several perks exclusive to Switch 2 users who subscribe to the Expansion Pack. These subscribers can also download the Switch 2 upgrade packs for both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom at no additional cost.
Nintendo offers the base Switch Online service for $20 per year, while the Expansion Pack subscription costs $50 annually. There is also an $80 family plan, which covers up to eight Nintendo Accounts across multiple systems. With the continuous addition of classic titles, Nintendo is giving both longtime fans and new players ample reasons to revisit these nostalgic adventures on modern hardware.
