The former Vice Chancellor, University of Abuja,Professor AbdulRasheed Na’Allah, will on Thursday 27th November 2025 deliver lecture at the public presentation of a book titled: Shaykh (Dr) Muhammad Bashir Imam Solih OON: The Spiritual Orator.
Recall that Prof. Na’Allah was the piooner Vice Chancellor, Kwara State University (KWASU) Malete for a two-term tenure of 10 years, making him the longest serving Vice-Chancellor for 15 years in Nigeria.
Tagged: “Religious Harmony, Cultural Preservation And Community Service: The Significance of Ilorin Emirate Pulpit”, the lecture is expected to give a comprehensive analysis of the uniqueness of the Ilorin Emirate Pulpit in the preservation and promotion of peaceful co-existence in the society.
The new book is a biography of the Chief Imam of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Ulama, Shaykh (Dr) Muhammad Bashir Imam Solih OON authored by the Publisher of Royal News Online Newspaper and Press Secretary to the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona.
The 14-chapter book also revealed Shaykh Bahir’s birth, career, emergence and service as the 12th Chief Imam of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Ulama and will be reviewed by the former Dean of Post-Graduate Studies, University of Ilorin, Prof. Yusuf Lanre Badmas.
Scheduled to hold at the Kwara State Banquet Hall, Opposite Government House, Ilorin, the event will be attended by the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar CFR and the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR.
Other dignitaries expected at the event are; Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN, President of the 8th Senate and Waziri of Ilorin Emirate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki CON, Kwara Central Senator and Turaki of Ilorin Emirate, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, the Zanna of Ilorin Emirate, Engr. Yusuf Lanre Sagaya OFR and the Kuliya of Ilorin Emirate, Malam Yusuf Olaolu Ali SAN.
The event will also have in attendance dignatries from all walks of life, academicians, traditional chiefs, Islamic scholars among others.
Shaykh (Dr) Muhammad Bashir Imam Solih OON was appointed at the age of 33 in October 1983 as the 12th Chief Imam by the 9th Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Zuluqarnaini Gambari Mohammed CFR.
