BEIJING, November 29 – Chen Han, Vice President of XPeng Motors, stated that the current “anti-involution” movement in China’s auto industry represents a crucial and inevitable step toward mature, high-quality development.

In a recent interview, Chen emphasized that XPeng has positioned itself not merely as an automaker but as a technology company with core advantages in cutting-edge fields like intelligent driving. “When AI-powered vehicles, flying cars, and embodied intelligence achieve deep collaboration through a unified AI brain, they become intelligent companions in users’ lives, not just isolated tools,” she explained.

Her comments align with a broader industry shift, as multiple automakers have recently echoed support for sustainable competition over destructive price wars.

Geely’s Executive Director Gui Shengyue pledged to “learn from competitors’ strengths, avoid criticizing peers, and focus on self-improvement”
Changan Auto’s Executive Vice President Ye Pei committed to rejecting “low-quality, low-price disorderly competition”
Xiaomi’s Founder Lei Jun vowed to “advance into the premium segment rather than engage in price wars”
BMW’s China CEO Sean Gao warned that persistent price erosion could “compromise quality, stifle innovation, and undermine sustainable development”

This growing consensus signals the industry’s transition from volume-driven growth to value-focused innovation, with leading players now prioritizing technological differentiation and ecosystem development over short-term market share gains.
