Shenzhen-based Daimon Robotics, founded by HKUST professors, has raised a massive new strategic round led by China Mobile to accelerate its world-leading high-resolution optical tactile sensors and full-stack embodied-intelligence solutions for humanoid robots and beyond.
December 4, 2025 — Shenzhen-based embodied robotics company Daimon Robotics has raised a tens-of-millions USD strategic round, marking its second round within three months and pushing its total funding to several hundred million RMB, setting a new record for angel-stage financing in the tactile-sensing sector. The round was led by the China Mobile Industrial Chain Fund, with proceeds allocated to advanced R&D, new product mass production, VTLA model development, and global expansion.
Founded in August 2023 by Professor Wang Yu and Dr. Duan Jianghua of HKUST, Daimon Robotics brings together top-tier research talent from leading global universities, combining deep scientific expertise with strong commercialization and manufacturing capabilities. The company specializes in tactile perception and dexterous manipulation and has pioneered a monochromatic optical tactile-sensing technology. Its flagship product, DM-Tac — the world’s first multi-dimensional, high-resolution tactile sensor — offers sensing density far exceeding that of the human fingertip, along with exceptional durability, breaking multiple industry technical barriers.
Daimon has built a complete “perception–manipulation–learning” product ecosystem, covering tactile sensors, end effectors, teleoperation systems, and humanoid robots, enabling one-stop solutions across diverse sectors. Since launching its flagship optical–tactile sensor series in April 2025, the product line has ranked No. 1 globally in its category, with a next-generation model released just six months later.
As a core ecosystem partner of China Mobile, Daimon will deepen collaboration to leverage the company’s VTLA large model and enhance data value creation, aiming to develop benchmark applications in embodied intelligence. With the global tactile-sensor market expanding rapidly, Daimon is well positioned — through its technological advantages and industrial resources — to take a leading role in the emerging wave of embodied AI.
