M. Saulenas’ Techno-Thriller Set Against the Backdrop of Rural America Now Slated for Exciting Exhibit at Frankfurt Book Fair 2024

Before becoming a novelist, M. Saulenas spent decades working in technology and knows more than a thing or two about whats been emerging. But today, he finds it better to explore the concepts of these intriguing innovations through a series of sci-fi novels with equally intriguing premises. The first of these techno-thrillers, titled Okanogan County, is now set to feature at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2024.

“This is the kind of techno-thriller I enjoy. Its based on some simple, and completely believable ideas, to predict what might very well happen in the near future.” Amazon review by Max Tardiveau

Every year, the Frankfurt Book Fair, also known as the Frankfurter Buchmesse, attracts thousands of visiting international readers who are excited to discover something new. And given the sheer size and scope of the event, they likely will. The book fair is one of the largest in Europe and the world, drawing authors and publishers who are eager to present new ideas, new stories, and new spins that could inspire the next hit blockbuster.

So for sci-fi author M. Saulenas, the 2024 Frankfurt Book Fair is just the place to feature a techno-thriller with his distinct combination of ideas.

Saulenass book is titled Okanogan County. Its the titular first novel in his trilogy where emerging technologies are involved in a series of thrilling mysteries, all set against the backdrop of a rural America unfamiliar with such revolutionary (and dangerous) science at work.

In the case of Okanogan County, the story follows two sheriffs Cas Glaven and Marcus Cole, both who once worked at high-stress jobs at the Seattle Police Department. The pair moved to the quieter hills of Okanogan County in the hopes that police life there would be more laid-back.

Yet, as the Washington autumn makes way for winter, the county starts experiencing mysterious events that are too bizarre to believe. Residents have gone missing without a trace as livestock have been found slaughtered in open fields. The place is starting to resemble an alien abduction horror. Yet, as Cas gets closer to the truth, he makes even more troubling discoveries.

The science in Saulenas Okanogan County draws heavily from his true life experience as a manager and independent consultant at various tech companies. From the things he has seen, he realized that he could come up with some very compelling, thought-provoking stories that broaden the conversation about todays emerging tech while still making for entertaining reads.

Visitors to the 2024 Frankfurt Book Fair can check out M. Saulenas work for themselves at the exhibit of self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnets exhibit at stand 6.0 B-11. The book fair will be held on October 16-20, 2024, at Messe Frankfurt, Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage 1, 60327 Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Okanogan County is available on Amazon.

Author Bio

Marty Saulenas spent many decades as a manager and independent consultant in high tech before settling down to write his first novel, Okanogan County. Since turning out that first novel he has written five more, including two more entries in the Okanogan County trilogy. Four of his novels are published. He currently lives and writes in a log cabin on the Kitsap Peninsula in western Washington State accompanied by his wife and editor Tonya Jarvis, their Australian Shepherd Taz, and their two cats, Hannibal and Clarice.

His novels are thrillers and mysteries whose storylines reflect his lifelong interest in current and emerging science and technology. These elements play supporting roles to the central narrative, which typically confronts the hero or heroine with challenges that test their mental and physical resources to the limit. Stylistically, the novels focus on the development of interesting, often eccentric but realistic characters, snappy dialogue laced with humor, and cinematic action sequences that keep the readers engaged.
