“Congrats on an amazing career at PlayStation”

Longtime Sony executive Shuhei Yoshida has announced their departure from PlayStation this week, and Xbox boss Phil Spencer has sent the exec a warm message – as he prepares to leave one of Microsoft’s biggest competitors in the gaming space.
Taking to Twitter early this morning, Phil sent his congratulations to Shuhei for “an amazing career at PlayStation”. The Xbox boss said that he’s “appreciated the time we’ve been able to spend talking gaming”, and that the Sony exec has “always been a great advocate for the industry”.
As you can see up above there, Shuhei has since replied to Phil, commenting on the Xbox exec’s “pioneering work” over at Microsoft. We always like to see stuff like this – it reminds us that every now and then, wholesome exchanges can happen on social media.
Shuhei Yoshida has been at Xbox competitor PlayStation for over 30 years, and came to public prominence with the platform’s big indie games push during the early PS4 era. We wish him the best on what’s next in his career!
