The PS5 Pro is here, but it’s a mixed bag so far. As we covered, Sony’s most powerful console’s success will depend on how many developers support it, but another one has joined the list today.
Embark Studios, the team working on the upcoming Arc Raiders has confirmed that its level-destroying shooter, The Finals, now has a PS5 Pro patch, and it’ll get a surprise launch on the PS4 (yes, the 2013 console) on December 12.
The strangest part is that, as of the time of writing, we’re still not entirely sure what the PS5 Pro patch for the popular shooter does.

What we know about the Finals PS5 Pro patch
The Finals won’t go higher than 60 FPS on PS5 Pro
While most PS5 Pro modes explicitly explain what they do, The Finals is enhanced without explaining how. Early testing appears to suggest it’s perhaps looking slightly sharper in terms of reflections, but with shooters it’s fair to say frame rate is king.
Sadly, The Finals doesn’t reach any higher than 60 FPS, although players have reported it has a more stable frame rate. The lack of 120 FPS support for compatible displays is a miss, though.

The good news is The Finals is free-to-play, so you can jump in and check it out without spending a penny. In my opinion it’s one of the most unique multiplayer shooters out there, so is definitely worth a look.
The game’s next season, Season 5, will launch on December 12 and looks like it’ll introduce a new weapon, and possibly a fresh map, too.
