Popular stand-up comedian and entertainer Munawar Faruqui recently spoke his heart out about the most emotional chapters of his life. The handsome revealed that when his son Mikhail was just one and a half years old he had a rare disease called Kawasaki. Munawar revealed that he did not have money to treat his son and only Rs 700 and needed 75 thousand for three injections. Munawar Faruqui reveals about his son’s rare disease
During a podcast episode with host Janice Sequeira, Munawar said that his son was diagnosed with a rare disease Kawasaki, and his blood vessels got swollen. This disease increased the risk of heart damage and the entire situation scared him. He said, ‘My son was one and a half years old then. He fell ill and his condition did not improve for 2-3 days. After taking him to the hospital, we came to know that he had Kawasaki disease. Three injections were needed and each one cost Rs 25,000 i.e. I needed Rs 75,000 but I had only Rs 700-800 in my wallet’. He revealed that he had to ask for money from people for the treatment. He even travelled to Mumbai Central to collect money and returned within three hours. He continued saying, ‘After that day, I decided that I would never be financially weak again’. He further added saying, ‘I smiled casually at the doctor, assuring him I’d arrange the money. But as I stepped out, I froze for 30-40 minutes, unable to think. It was the heaviest moment of my life.’
On the personal front, Munawar was first married to Jasmine and they are parents to son Mikhail. The Bigg Boss 17 winner parted ways after three years and later married to a makeup artist Mahjabeen Kotwala for the second time in May 2024. Munawar also won Kangana Ranaut’s reality show Lock Upp.
