Android’s Privacy dashboard adds 7-day history with Nov. Google Play system update

Android’s Privacy dashboard adds 7-day history with Nov. Google Play system update

After introducing in Android 16 Developer Preview 1 last month, Google is rolling out a 7-day history for the Privacy dashboard to Android 15.

This is rolling out via the November 2024 Google Play system update. We’re seeing this 7-day history in Privacy dashboard on various Android 15 QPR1 Pixel devices today.

After installing, go to Settings app > Security & privacy > Privacy dashboard. Tap the overflow menu icon in the top-right corner for a new “Show 7 days” option, which joins “Show system.”

The stats below will update from “Past 24 hours” to “Past 7 days” as you get a longer timeline for Location, Camera, and Microphone usage.

This is a prime example of how Google can improve various aspects of Android via Google Play system updates that don’t require a full operating system release.

Meanwhile, with Android 15, Google elevated the Privacy dashboard into the main Security & privacy page along with Privacy controls and Private space.
