At The Game Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday, a night of trailers ended in the biggest world premiere of them all: The Last of Us creator Naughty Dog’s next game is Intergalactic, a sci-fi adventure that will release on the PS5.
The trailer for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, as it’s fully titled, showed protagonist Jordan A. Mun, a bounty hunter, haggle with her agent to select her next target. But this wasn’t sleek white steel: in Mun’s star-spread future, her Porsche-branded ship is packed with Sony hi-fi systems and TVs showing old anime. There’s plenty of ’80s touches.
Mun is played by Tati Gabrielle and the game is directed by The Last of Us director Neil Druckmann, but aside from a few details about the forbidden planet Mun is headed to, Naughty Dog didn’t reveal much on a blog post announcing the game — and there’s no release date announced, either.
