TechGamingCall of Duty Black OpsBlack Ops 6 and Warzone skins aren’t likely to get any more realistic, after a dev confirmed that the popular shooter will continue to push surprising cosmetics
Expect more surprising skins in Black Ops 6(Image: Activision)Call of Duty fans have been divided over skins for years now.
On the one hand, movie tie-ins like Dune offer some synergy between media brands, while Halloween skins feel like a novelty at least for a week.
Then there’s Blunty, the weed-smoking lizard, or the current shop item that’s a literal shark with legs, which can rub some fans the wrong way.
While some want more options for customising their character, while others would prefer things are kept more realistic, but it appears the developers have no intention of slowing down on the more surprising skins.

Call of Duty devs refuse to go back to realistic skinsWe wonder how Blunty stays chill around the chaos of a Call of Duty match(Image: Activision)Speaking to Dexerto, Miles Leslie, Treyarch’s associate creative director, has said there are likely many more zany skins to come.
“Fun always comes first for us,” Leslie said. “Of course, we want to stay grounded in the DNA that makes a Black Ops game unique when it comes to core gameplay, but we also like to break the rules if it’s going to maximize fun for players.”
He also suggested Black Ops’ more off-the-wall nature could mean it’s the best fit for more comical skins.
“When it comes to cosmetics, the Black Ops series naturally lends itself to some pretty outlandish themes when you consider we’re the birthplace of Call of Duty Zombies and all of the crazy mindf**kery that comes with the storytelling in our games, so we like to have fun there too.
“The team has already delivered some of my all-time favorite Operator Skins, and we’re only in the first season.”
WIth a Squid Game crossover planned for early next year, expect plenty more skins to come.
