Maybank now lets you lock your funds away from potential frauds

As scammers find more innovative ways to steal money from individuals, Maybank is helping to combat this by introducing a new Money Lock feature on the MAE app, which customers can utilize to lock their funds from being digitally accessed on their savings and current accounts, providing a peace of mind.

With this feature, Maybank customers and set a preffered amount that they want to safeguard and prevent it from being used. To unlock or decrease the locked funds, the customer will need to visit any Maybank branch to do it over an ATM machine, though inconvenient, this is an additional layer of security that could prevent scammers from manipulating customers from withdrawing the locked funds.

Once the funds are locked, customers will not be able to perform online banking transactions, ATM and over-the-counter withdrawals, debit card usage, auto debit and standing instructions.
