Actor Gary Oldman and his “Slow Horses” co-star Jack Lowden showed up at the Golden Globes over the weekend where the show and Oldman were nominated for honors.
Though they didn’t win, Oldman confirmed that fans of the series have plenty to look forward to and they’re moving forward fast on making more. Speaking with Extra TV, they were asked about the third man who went along with them.
Oldman said: “This is Adam Randall who directed season four and is directing season six, which we’re all going back to tomorrow.” When the interviewer seem confused as the fifth season hasn’t set a release date yet, Oldman clarified: “Five is coming out, and then we’re in the middle of six.”
The renewal order for the sixth season came through in October last year but work had already begun earlier and so when it was greenlit filming could begin right away. The fifth season was shot early last year and now the sixth should wrap within the next few months.
In a key change from past seasons, the sixth season is set to adapt not one but two of Mick Herron’s Slough House novels – the sixth and seventh novels “Joe Country” and “Slough House”. It’s not clear if that change will be reflected in the episode count at present.
Eight novels have been published to date with a ninth due out this year. There are also five novellas with material, meaning the show has enough material for up to eight or nine seasons.
The fifth season is expected to launch on Apple TV+ towards year’s end.
