Tesla has officially unveiled the refreshed Model Y, otherwise more well known with its codename ‘Juniper’. To celebrate this milestone, Tesla introduces the Launch Edition of the New Model Y, featuring unique design elements and the exclusive new exterior color, Glacier Blue. Orders are now open on Tesla’s official website.
The New Model Y adopts a striking cyber design inspired by Tesla’s iconic Cybertruck and Cybercab. The vehicle features a cross-car lightbar at the front, a redesigned rear lightbar, and an all-new tailgate, giving it a bold and futuristic look. Enhancing the aerodynamics, Tesla has introduced newly designed wheels and a rear diffuser to optimize air resistance and lift balance, improving rear-wheel downforce for a quieter, more stable high-speed driving experience.
The Launch Edition of the New Model Y stands out with exclusive styling elements that include a customized launch badge at the rear, a puddle light badge, and a doorsill plate with the “Launch” wordmark. Additionally, the charging console and floor mats feature silver accents, while the interior boasts an all-black vegan suede trim that enhances its luxurious feel.
Tesla has made significant updates to enhance cabin comfort and efficiency. The refreshed Model Y offers a noticeably quieter cabin with double-layer glass for all windows and a silver-coated panoramic glass roof that reduces UV rays and heat. The interior includes features such as ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, and a second-row display for passenger convenience. Rear passenger seats are now more functional, with users able to adjust their positions or fold them down at the press of a button.
The New Model Y is available in two variants, each offering distinct features. The Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive variant delivers a range of 466 km (WLTP), accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 201 km/h. It is priced at RM195,450. Meanwhile, the Model Y Long Range variant, featuring all-wheel drive, offers an extended range of 551 km (WLTP), a quicker acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, and the same top speed of 201 km/h, priced at RM242,450.
