Based on Shim Yoon Seo’s 2019 novel “Home, Bitter Home,” MBC’s “Motel California” is a new romance drama about a woman named Ji Gang Hui (Lee Se Young), who was born and raised in a rural motel called Motel California. After escaping her hometown, she returns home after 12 years and winds up reconnecting with her first love and childhood friend Cheon Yeon Su (Na In Woo).

On the first episode of “Motel California,” Ji Gang Hui and Cheon Yeon Su parted ways after she took off for Seoul, leaving him behind in their hometown. Over a decade after their painful farewell, Ji Gang Hui unexpectedly returned for the funeral of Cheon Yeon Su’s grandfather—and as soon he laid eyes on her, Cheon Yeon Su immediately rushed to embrace her.
Ahead of its highly-anticipated second episode, “Motel California” unexpectedly unveiled stunning wedding photos of Ji Gang Hui and Cheon Yeon Su, piquing curiosity as to whether this former couple is truly getting married.
