On January 15, 2025, Chinese automaker BYD announced its strategic partnership with Southeast Asian mobility giant Grab, to deliver 50,000 BYD electric vehicles for Grab drivers across the region.
Through this collaboration, Grab and BYD hope to drive the electrification of Southeast Asia’s transportation sector by providing BYD vehicles to its partners and drivers at the most competitive prices and with enhanced battery warranty services. Drivers can choose to lease electric vehicles from Grab’s fleet partners or opt for financing support through Grab’s car ownership program.
In countries such as Singapore and Thailand, Grab users can opt for the “Eco-Friendly Ride” feature, which prioritizes the allocation of EVs for their trips at no additional charge, further promoting sustainable transportation.
