Samsung Galaxy S25 leak shows new Gemini overlay, hotword, and more

Ahead of next week’s Samsung event, the Galaxy S25 leaks continue and the latest marketing reveals the Gemini experience.

In S25 marketing material shared by Tecnoblog (via Android Authority), we see the redesigned Gemini overlay with access to the ‘plus’ menu, voice input, and Gemini Live. There are two curious things about what’s depicted, though you have to keep in mind that this is just a marketing shot rather than actual UI.

For starters, the usual blue/purple glow is replaced by the four Google colors (blue, red, yellow, and green). That better fits the broader brand, but would signal a new direction for Gemini. This is most likely for marketing, similar to how Circle to Search appears with those colors in ads.

Meanwhile, the hotword is implied to be “Hey Google Gemini,” though hopefully this is just for marketing purposes. It should just be “Hey Gemini.” That said, it does reveal how “Gemini” may not have widespread association with Google yet.

The actual command — “list the places mentioned in this video and save a Note” — suggests a new Gemini Extension for Samsung Notes. The existing YouTube integration should be able to handle the first half of the command, while Gemini today only supports Google Keep.

Hopefully, all existing Samsung devices will get those new Samsung app Gemini Extensions. Meanwhile, the new Gemini overlay looks like it will be announced next week with the Samsung S25. With the design already appearing for some users on Pixel devices, a wide rollout is presumably coming soon.
