Director Gautham Menon expressed his disappointment in an interview, reflecting on Suriya’s decision not to act in the film “Dhruva Natchathiram.” The movie, starring Vikram, has faced numerous production hurdles and is yet to be released. Gautham Menon is currently promoting his new project, “Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse,” starring Mammootty, set to release on January 23rd. During the promotional interview, Menon opened up about his past experiences with “Dhruva Natchathiram.”
He revealed that he had high hopes of Suriya taking up the lead role after their successful collaborations on “Kaakka Kaakka” and “Vaaranam Aayiram.” The story and concept for “Dhruva Natchathiram” were ready, but Suriya remained hesitant, asking numerous questions about the script and requiring detailed clarifications. Despite Menon’s attempts to assure Suriya, expressing his confidence and requesting his trust, the actor chose not to take the role. Menon mentioned feeling particularly disheartened as he believed that Suriya, with whom he had delivered two hit films, would trust his vision for the film.
The director also explained that he might not have felt the same if someone else had declined, but Suriya’s refusal left him deeply disappointed. This discussion about the film and Suriya’s decision has sparked conversations online, with many sharing the video clip of the interview.
