The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Honorable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has come under fire for his exorbitant rent price which critics claim is proof he’s a corrupt politician.

Ablakwa, who is the Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs under the current Mahama administration, appeared before Parliament’s Appointment Committee this week and endured a heated session, sparring notably with the Minority leader, Honorable Alexander Afenyo Markins.

The North Tongu MP, who exposed a barrage of scandals under the previous NPP government and was appointed head of the NDC’s famed ORAL (Operation Recover All Loot) committee, is also facing accusations of being corrupt following his appointment committee appearance.

NPP’s Richard Gyamfi took Okduzeto on in a post shared on his X handle, writing: “I am reliably informed that the Airport Hills rent per month is between $15,000 and $34,000.

“Crusader in chief of ORAL, whose primary income is from his MP’s salary, has been paying this consistently for 96 months. Do your own calculations 😎”
