Maurice Ampaw, a private legal practitioner and npp supporter who was making a lot of noise during the election period and boldly declared that he would relocate to Togo if John Mahama won the election has backtracked on his statement, claiming he never meant what he said.
Speaking on GTV Ghana, he confessed that it was all just political talk to rally support against Mahama. “I won’t go to Togo. Ghana is far better than Togo. I don’t even have a passport, I’ve never traveled before,” he admitted.
Ampaw, who was firmly in Dr. Bawumia’s camp during the campaign, also admitted that Mahama’s victory was a reality check. “At the end of the day, Mahama proved to me that anything is possible. I never thought he could return, but he did,” he said
