Pulsar Creation and indie.io are teaming up to launch A Fistful of Yankees. It is a real-time tactical strategy game steeped in the grit and tension of classic spaghetti westerns. Set in 1865, as the Confederacy collapses, the story follows a small band of Union soldiers stationed at a remote frontier fort. Under the command of a battle-hardened captain, this unit is pulled into a treacherous mystery on the untamed western frontier.
A Fist Full of Yankees provides a twist in the classic wild west genre. In this game, players do not control lone outlaws or bounty hunters. Instead, they lead disciplined soldiers through unpredictable encounters. From dusty ambushes in Navajo territory to tense train assaults, every one of the game’s six chapters brings unique tactical challenges. Whether planning or reacting to sudden enemy strikes, players must rely on clever tactics, soldier abilities, and smart use of cover to survive in fast-paced, real-time combat.
Victory depends on grit, quick thinking, and the clever use of terrain. A well-timed cavalry charge or a perfectly placed dynamite throw can turn the tide of battle. The game’s Prestige system keeps strategy light but rewarding. It lets players earn reinforcements based on battlefield performance without bogging them down in micromanagement.
Lead developer Alexandre Gatt said it is “for people who want a fun game without any hassle, who no longer have time to play games that are overly complex and long.” He also mentioned that the game is perfect for those “who want to have a good time when they get home from work.”
