A Step-by-Step Guide to Acquire a Horse in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (KCD2) has a large map divided into two different areas: the rural, Troskowitz region and the sub-urban, Kuttenberg region, which makes KCD2 almost twice as big of a world as the original.

Traveling through such vast terrain can be a tough task if all you know is running your way to the destination. Luckily, the game provides the option of riding your way in style to places using a horse, but finding one in the game isn’t that easy!

Players can acquire a horse using three methods in Kingdome Come: Deliverance 2 –

Following and completing the introductory quests.

Buying a horse from a trader.

Stealing a horse from the stables.

2. Completing the Introductory Quest

To do this, you first have to speak with the Bailiff at Troskowitz to get directions to the wedding. After that, unlock details about Radovan, the Blacksmith, then head to Tachov to meet him.

Talk to Radovan and complete the “Son of A Blacksmith” quest, then forge 2 Horseshoes and 2 Axes. After doing that you can now speak to Radovan about additional work.
He will assign Henry a quest called “The Jaunt,” which will take you to Semine, located far north of Tachov. Enter the keep here to trigger a cutscene.

Now, you have to defeat Jerkov in a fistfight, and then follow Gnarly and speak with Lord Semine, then agree to assist with the search for the missing cart. Choose the dialogue option that says “I thought you might lend me a horse.“

Now, approach the Horse Seller at the Keep’s Stables.
Convince the Stable Seller that ‘Pebbles’ is Henry’s horse. This requires either an Intimidation score of 12 or a Charisma score of at least 10. If successful, Henry will reclaim Pebbles, and the quest to find a horse will be complete.

3. Buying and Stealing a Horse in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

As the introductory quests are quite lengthy and take a bit of time to complete, you can try some other methods to get a horse early.

You can either purchase a horse from a trader or steal one from the stables available in the region. However, both of these methods have some drawbacks.

While purchasing a horse is extremely expensive, stealing one can lead to Henry having a bad rep which can lead the guards to arrest you, if his infamy reaches a certain threshold.
