Actress Rohini: Art Expresses the Unspoken at ‘Kaadhal Enbadhu Podhu Udamai’ Music Launch

At the music launch event of the film ‘Kaadhal Enbadhu Podhu Udamai’, actress Rohini spoke about the essence of art, stating that “Art is about expressing the unspoken.”

The film stars Vineeth, Rohini, Lijomol Jose, Kalesh, and Anusha, and its music launch took place in Chennai. Along with the cast and crew, special guests such as Manikandan, director Sasi, director Balaji Tharaneetharan, and Nelson Venkatesan attended the event.

During the event, Rohini shared her experience working in the film. She applauded the director’s confidence in Tamil audiences and how well the story was written, starting its message within the family. She mentioned that after working as a character artist for years, this role was one of her most challenging ones.

She expressed concerns over whether she could do justice to her role as Lakshmi but was drawn to how the character raises important social questions. Rohini felt that she portrayed the voice of society in this film, making it a challenging role. She also spoke about the emotional depth of her character as a loving mother, highlighting how different all her previous mother roles were in ‘Witness’, ‘Thandatti’, and ‘3’.

She emphasized that films should go beyond conventional storytelling and truly engage the audience, proving that Tamil cinema is capable of meaningful narratives similar to Malayalam films. Concluding her speech, she stated, “Art’s purpose is to give voice to the unspoken—that is its responsibility and beauty, and we have done that through this film.”
