The People’s Democratic Party conducted its primary elections on December 2, 2025, in the heat of controversies triggered by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s resignation.
This comes after the Osun PDP Chairman announced on December 1, 2025, that the primaries scheduled for December 2 would be postponed. Despite that announcement, one part of the party still proceeded with the exercise.
The primaries eventually held in Osogbo, where Adebayo Ademola won with 919 out of 957 votes.
Chairman of the Primary Elections Committee, Humphrey Abba, confirmed the outcome and disclosed that 20 votes were void, mostly because Governor Adeleke resigned
Despite his resignation, Governor Adeleke’s name still appeared in the ballot paper.
