*Latin GRAMMY winners in contemporary flamenco Las Migas perform at the Jazz Café on Saturday 31st May 2025 and La Plazuela perform their flamenco, funk, pop and electronic infused set at the same venue on Saturday 7th June 2025*
Internationally renowned Latin GRAMMY-winning Spanish flamenco group Las Migas and La Plazuela, one of Spain’s most-talked-about emerging musical duos, have announced their very first London shows this summer at the Jazz Café on Saturday 31st May 2025 and Saturday 7th June 2025 as part of the 20th edition of Flamenco Festival London.
Las Migas will present songs from their latest album Rumberas that sees the band continue to explore the international reach of their music, combining deep tradition with fresh influences. The Barcelona collective was founded in 2004 by Paula Ramírez (lead vocals), Laura Pacios (violin), Marta Robles (flamenco guitar and vocals) and Alicia Grillo (flamenco guitar and vocals) who met whilst studying at the city’s prestigious Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya. Now with over 20 years of musical innovation and acclaim, they continue to push the boundaries of flamenco with their unique blend of powerful vocals, stunning guitar work, and rhythmic energy.
Hailing from Granada, Spain, Manuel Hidalgo Sierra (El Indio) and Luis Abril Martín (El Nitro) formed La Plazuela in 2017 and quickly gained recognition for an innovative sound blending the pair’s Andalusian roots of flamenco with funk, pop and electronic music that references the likes of Silk Sonic, Jungle and the Free Nationals. The dynamic duo released their debut album Roneo Funk Club in 2023 which garnered millions of streams and spawned hit singles ‘El lao de la pena’ and ‘Péiname, Juana’.
Las Migas and La Plazuela are presented as part of Flamenco Festival’s 20th anniversary, held annually at Sadler’s Wells, and this year is proud to partner with Como No and the Jazz Café. Tickets are on sale, HERE.
