Anna Congdon and Saquon Barkley: A Complete Relationship Timeline

Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen aren’t the only football couple celebrating a recent engagement. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Saquon Barkley recently proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Anna Congdon.

Just ahead of his first Super Bowl, the 27-year-old NFL star revealed the change in their relationship status in an interview with People, crediting the mother of their two children with much of his success on the field. The couple share a six-year-old daughter, Jada, and a two-year-old son, Saquon Jr.

“I can’t be the athlete I am and have the success I have so in my career without the help of her,” Barkley said of Anna Congdon. “She’s been super helpful and always has my back, not only in football but throughout life there’s a lot that goes on. But as we continue to grow and mature and go through life together, we continue getting closer and continue to get even better.”

2025February 3, 2025: Barkley reveals in a pre-Super Bowl press conference that the pair have been engaged for six months, per People. He claimed proposing was more nerve-wracking than his first Super Bowl. “I’m just not good with stuff like that,” he said. “I’m a lover boy, but I’m not like a clever lover boy.”

February 2, 2025: Barkley breaks the news of their engagement in an interview with People, saying, “I have an amazing fiancée.”

In the interview, the football player reflected on their relationship, particularly raising their children together. “It’s a beautiful thing because we have two amazing children that we were raised and we just sit back and laugh sometimes when they’re over there playing and just smile and think about where everything started,” he said. “And now we got a six-year-old who’s about to be seven, who knows it all already, and then our son who’s all into toys and trucks and cars and he’s just a boy. He likes fighting, he likes playing football. So we cherish all those moments.”

He continued, “I’d be naive to think that I’ve made it and all the stuff that we are able to accomplish this year was all alone and by myself.”

2022September 2022: Sometime after attending the US Open, Barkley and Congdon welcomed their son Saquon Jr.

“Beautiful baby,” Barkley said of “S.J.” after his birth, per the New York Giants’ website. “He lights up the room. Amazing smile. Jada is being an amazing big sister. Anna, obviously, an amazing mom. We’ve got a beautiful little family.”

Prior to her time at Penn, Congdon was the captain of her Forest City, Pennsylvania, high school basketball team, winning the District 2 championships with the Lady Foresters in 2016.
