Thailand on the Verge of Legalizing Casinos

Speaking of developments in the ASEAN region, Thailand, once known as a very conservative country when it comes to gambling, is on the verge of legalizing integrated resorts. This has attracted the attention of many industry-leading gaming companies, including the likes of Melco, MGM, Wynn, LVS, Galaxy Entertainment, and Genting Malaysia.

Thailand is furthermore optimistic about beating Japan to it and launching its first resort before the construction of the Osaka IR has been finalized.

In other news, China joined forces with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime to fight gambling-related crime and scams across Asia.
