AVERY LYNCH SHARES NEW SINGLE, “THE BOYS WHO DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY WANT”

Rising singer-songwriter Avery Lynch reveals her poignant new single, “the boys who don’t know what they want,” out today via RECORDS.

Since making her debut in 2020, Avery Lynch has enchanted listeners worldwide with her emotionally charged, piano-driven ballads, amassing over 100 million streams. “the boys who don’t know what they want” is yet another testament to Avery’s exceptional ability to channel raw emotion through minimalist production and her captivating vocals. The song explores the vulnerability and frustration of navigating relationships with indecisive men, offering a deeply relatable narrative that’s sure to resonate with many listeners.

“The title of the song really says it all,” Avery elaborates. “I wrote this song about those ‘almost’ relationships that I’ve been in myself and have observed around me — people will act the part of someone in a relationship while not wanting one, or they’ll want a relationship and not act on it. I made this song as a sister-song to ‘you’re just a guy” and, just like that song, this doesn’t feel specifically sad to me, it feels more matter-of-fact. It’s just something I’ve observed that we’ve all experienced and don’t want to experience anymore.”

Originally hailing from Pennsylvania, Avery Lynch embarked on her musical journey at the tender age of 7, composing piano pieces before seamlessly transitioning into songwriting. Now based in Los Angeles, her signature sound, characterized by lush piano arrangements and soft, romantic vocals, has become the cornerstone of her artistry. Each song begins with Avery alone at her piano, crafting heartfelt demos that she later brings to life with her close-knit team.

Often described as a “happy girl filled with sad songs,” Avery’s music is a masterclass in storytelling, inspired by her life experiences, the world around her, and the media she consumes. With praise from tastemakers like Just Jared and EARMILK, and millions of devoted listeners, Avery’s star continues to rise. Her signing with RECORDS (Sony Music) last year marked a pivotal moment in her career, underscoring her undeniable talent and setting the stage for an even brighter future ahead.
