Baidu Plans to Launch Apollo Go Robotaxi Service in Hong Kong

On October 9th, according to Chinastarmarket, informed sources revealed that Baidu Apollo Go plans to launch robotaxi service in Hong Kong, which will also be its first business outside the mainland market.

In the second quarter of 2024, Baidu‘s autonomous driving service Apollo Go provided approximately 899,000 autonomous driving orders, a year-on-year increase of 26%. As of July 28, 2024, Apollo Go has accumulated over 7 million orders for autonomous driving travel services provided to the public.

On June 19th, Apollo Go started to provide 100% fully autonomous ride-hailing services in almost the entire city of Wuhan (its largest operating city), marking an important milestone for this project. In addition, the sixth generation of Apollo Go’s autonomous driving vehicle RT6 has begun large-scale fully autonomous road testing.
