BBNaija’s Tacha Sets Two Guinness World Records For Most Makeup Makeovers

November 12, (THEWILL) — Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Natacha “Tacha” Akide, has made history, earning two Guinness World Records for completing the most cosmetic makeovers in both eight-hour and 24-hour periods.

Guinness World Records announced the achievement in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, writing:

“Congratulations to @Symply_Tacha, who set TWO new @GWR titles for the most cosmetic makeovers in eight hours and 24 hours.”

Tacha made the record-breaking attempt in October during the Tacha Beauty Festival, held at the John Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture & History in Lagos. She successfully completed 82 makeovers within eight hours and 144 within 24 hours, earning her both titles.

Following the announcement, the 29-year-old reality TV star took to Instagram to thank her supporters, her team, and her late mother in an emotional post.

“First Nigerian to break 2 records at a go. God did it! My mummy in heaven! You did it! I felt you holding my shoulders when my knees were shaking. I carried your strength into that room and I didn’t stop”, she wrote

“To my team and my assistant makeup artists, when the lights went out, you stayed, when the pressure got loud, you listened, when I snapped, you understood the big assignment. You smiled, talked, cried, and hyped me till the very last second. From the depth of my heart, thank you.”

Reflecting on her journey, Tacha described the process as one marked by sleepless nights and determination, expressing gratitude to everyone who supported her dream.

“The world sees the headline, but God and I know the trenches, sleepless nights, generator hum, prayers at 3 AM, swollen feet, shaky hands that kept going, and grace that does not lie.”

“To everyone who called, pulled up, reposted, and believed before they saw it, thank you. The same God who did this for me knows your secret prayers, and He will answer you double.”

Encouraging her fans to stay resilient in the face of challenges, she added:

“This is a reminder to every dreamer: Do not stop. If you don’t have haters, pray for haters because they’ll push you into purpose. While they hate, I chase destiny and win. My first name is Anita, and it means ‘gracious.’ Grace is loud in my life.”

With this remarkable achievement, Tacha becomes the first Nigerian to set two Guinness World Records in a single attempt, a feat that celebrates not only her skill and persistence but also the growing recognition of African creativity and excellence on the global stage.
