Immerse Yourself in Benign Land
AFTERNATURE Productions is delighted to announce the release date for its upcoming title, Benign Land. This atmospheric walking simulator will be coming out on PC via Steam on 24 January, inviting players to explore Ireland’s rich and layered history. Take a look at the official release date trailer below.
Benign Land is created by interdisciplinary artist and game developer Leandros Ntolas. It brings gaming and contemporary art together in a unique way. First showcased as an interactive art installation in Northern Ireland by Household Belfast, this project invites you to explore surreal landscapes filled with symbolism. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, it offers a deeply immersive experience.
The game draws inspiration from literary greats like James Joyce and Seamus Heaney, as well as the surreal style of Gaspar Noé’s Enter the Void. It leads players through beautifully crafted scenes that explore Irish history, from ancient pagan roots to the era of the Troubles. Perfect for those who enjoy artistic, boundary-pushing experiences, it will resonate with fans of Dear Esther and Journey.
