Blightstone, the dark medieval fantasy turn-based roguelite RPG, will enter Steam Early Access on January 20. Priced at 12.99 EUR or 15.99 USD, it will launch with a limited discount for the first two weeks. Developed by Unfinished Pixel, the game blends freeform tactical movement, unpredictable elemental reactions, and a shifting timeline where every attempt leaves lasting marks on a world that is slowly falling apart.
In the game, players guide a small group of heroes and the living crystal that ties their destinies together. Corruption spreads across the land, turning each run into a race against a future that grows darker with every misstep. Progress comes through collected skills, discovered gear, and careful adaptation to battlefields that transform under fire, frost, and lightning. A single well-timed decision can secure victory, while a single mistake may collapse the entire attempt. Strength alone is never enough. The journey demands focus, patience, and a talent for adjusting to changing conditions.
The story revolves around protecting the Earthglass Crystal and carrying it toward the Infernal Rift. Only by completing this mission can players confront the demon overlord Korghul and destroy the Blightstone. The path is harsh, and repeated defeat becomes part of the experience. Each fall teaches something new, and each return offers a chance to rebuild, refine, and push further.
The environment itself plays a central role. Objects, enemies, and shifting weather patterns create tactical situations that can either support or undermine a plan. Success comes from reading the field and reacting to its dangers and opportunities.
