BYD Will Introduce Intelligent Driving Solutions, Multiple Stocks Hit the Daily Limit

On February 6th, BYD Company Limited (002594.SZ, hereinafter referred to as “BYD”) hit the daily limit up with a 10% increase, closing at 311.08 yuan per share. At the same time, stocks related to the BYD concept saw significant increases in their prices during trading hours, including BYD Electronic Company Limited (00285.HK), Megvii Technology (002881.SZ), and Horizon Robotics (09660.HK) with gains of over 10%. Yutong Optics (300790.SZ) and Sanhua Intelligent Control (002050.SZ) also hit the daily limit up.

In terms of news, BYD is set to hold an intelligentization strategy conference on February 10th. An internal source from BYD told reporters that starting this year, all models by BYD will be equipped with intelligent driving solutions such as Seagull and Dolphin for low-cost models; there are at least three sets of solutions available – entry-level from Raincom, mid-range self-developed by BYD itself, and high-end in collaboration with Momenta; intelligent driving chips include NVIDIA Orin X/N and Horizon J6 M.

According to brokerage sources, BYD has placed million-level chip orders with NVIDIA and Horizon Robotics. The stock price of Horizon Robotics surged more than 11% during trading today. In terms of onboard CIS technology development, the image sensor chip CIS independently developed by Bydmicro has become an important component of its intelligent driving system; today’s stock price for BYD Electronic Company Limited rose by over 18.6%. Additionally, supplier SITRI Technologies Co., Ltd. (688213.SH) saw a surge of 10.78%, while Veer shares rose by 2.68% today.

Regarding onboard cameras: Yutong Optics hit the daily limit up today with a gain of nearly 19.99%, while Elinktron Technology Co., Ltd.(300679.SZ) increased by around9 .22%.

Minsheng Securities’ research report on BYD released on February 3rd shows that by 2025, BYD will strengthen its leading position through technological innovation. In BYD’s production and sales plan for 2025, it is hoped that at least 60% of the vehicles can be equipped with high-level NOA and above intelligent driving systems, which is expected to promote NOA as a popular configuration for cars priced between 100,000 to 150,000 yuan. The flagship models Han L and Tang L from BYD Dynasty are set to be launched in March and will both feature the DiPilot300 advanced intelligent driving system, supporting functions such as high-speed NOA and urban NOA to drive brand premiumization.

Equal rights in intelligent driving have become a major focus of BYD’s move towards intelligence. By 2025, BYD will make every effort to catch up with the progress of intelligent driving. New models will be equipped with different intelligent driving solutions according to different price ranges. Currently, BYD’s advanced intelligent driving assistance system ‘Tian Shen Zhi Yan’ has officially launched the City Navigation (CNOA) function nationwide without maps. A person from the new technology research institute of BYD Group stated that they will push forward smart driving functions into car models priced at around 100,000 yuan level to achieve large-scale production of smart driving.

In recent years, through internal competition mechanisms in the field of intelligent driving technology innovations continuously promoted end-to-end large model architecture integration sensing multiple sensors without map NOA technologies completed real vehicle deployment.
