Overshadowed by Oblivion? No chance!
When Oblivion Remastered was shadow-dropped out of nowhere earlier this week, a lot of people’s minds immediately went to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and how that game was surely going to be impacted by such a huge new release.
There were some who were suggesting it was going to be overlooked and pushed into the background as a result of Bethesda’s remaster – and we’d probably include ourselves in that, as it just seemed the most likely outcome!
However, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s incredible reviews have led to a lot of interest in the new RPG, as it’s already passed the 500,000 sales mark after 24 hours, and that’s despite it being included with Xbox and PC Game Pass.
The news was announced on social media by the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 team earlier today:
Looking at the Top Sellers chart on Steam, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is sitting in a very healthy 3rd place right now, with a peak player count of 70,000 at the time of writing. Oblivion Remastered still holds the top spot with a peak player count of 190,000, but still, we reckon Expedition 33 is faring very well considering the circumstances.
It’s fantastic to see that the Oblivion shadow drop hasn’t caused any major issues for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and now the only problem is that we’ve got two epic adventures to enjoy on Xbox Game Pass at the same time! Listen, we know you need Xbox news from us, but we kinda need a couple of weeks’ vacation about now…
