CRUFT Reaches the Finals at Boston Festival of Indie Games

Let’s All Cheer for CRUFT
Will and Matt from Go On Entertainment have announced that CRUFT is a finalist at the Boston Festival of Indie Games. The duo will be showcasing it at the event on 12 December. Being included among a talented group of creators is a significant milestone for the team, and the event provides an opportunity to share the project with a broader community of players and developers.

CRUFT is a cozy incremental crafting game built around the idea of starting small and shaping a space that reflects personal creativity. The game begins on an empty lot, where you set up your workshop and slowly build it into a place filled with items that match your interests. Every crafting session opens new possibilities. There are plenty of items to create, along with a small network of contacts accessible through your in-game phone. These characters buy and sell goods, giving you different ways to earn, trade, and expand. You can also load your van with items and drive into town to sell them.

A crucial aspect of the game’s identity is the concept of CRUFT. It represents waste, scraps, leftovers, and the general clutter that crafting naturally produces. It can be the inedible parts of a plant or the effort spent on something that does not turn out as intended. Managing CRUFT becomes part of the experience. You can clear it to keep your yard tidy and make more room to work. Or you can let it pile up and embrace a chaotic environment. The choice shapes the personality of the space you are building.

CRUFT focuses on freedom, gradual progress, and the enjoyment of making things your own. The BostonFIG showcase highlights the growing interest in the project and offers a new step forward.
