We’ve been keeping an eye on the progress of Delta Force for Xbox Series X|S over the past couple of years, and the game’s developer has finally announced today that we’ll be playing it (for free) on Xbox in August.

Delta Force has an official Xbox release date of August 19, 2025. In addition to the main game being free-to-play, the Xbox Series X|S release will also come with free DLC in the form of the Black Hawk Down campaign mode.

The news was announced in a Season Break Preview Stream earlier today, which you can watch up above.

“We’ve been working hard [on the console version] and today we finally have some good news to share. The console version of Delta Force will be officially launched on August 19. It will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and it will be free-to-play. Black Hawk Down will also be released as a free DLC.”

If you haven’t been keeping up with this one, Delta Force is a team-based tactical shooter that’s proved very popular on Steam despite having a “Mixed” rating on there (a rating that’s based on almost 120,000 user reviews), featuring 32v32 PvP combat along with PvE elements. There’s also a free campaign called Black Hawk Down as mentioned, which is a remake of “the classic series campaign based on the gripping 2001 movie”.

We’re sure this one’s going to be massive when it arrives on Xbox in couple of months’ time, so we’ll keep an eye out for any Xbox-specific details ahead of release. For now, you can check out more info about the game below.

Delta Force is back! The iconic series returns as the definitive free-to-play modern team-based tactical shooter and featuring three distinct gameplay modes: large-scale PvP warfare, intense extraction shooter action, and a remake of the legendary Black Hawk Down campaign.
